JAMMU, July 6: Former Member BCCI and Working Committee Member Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), Ankush Abrol inaugurated Hot Weather Under-15 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here today.
The Tournament is being held under the supervision of organizing secretary, Sunil Kumar (Cricket Coach).
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, MIER Cricket Academy scored a decent total of 183 runs in 40 overs. Ashank was the top scorer with 60 runs, while Arihan contributed 26 runs to the total. Arya Suvansh, Karmanya, Aditya Abroland Dikshant Kundal contributed 22, 20, 15 and 12 runs respectively. For MGCA, Suraj took 3 important wickets, while Dhruv Parmar and Nityam Abrol shared 2 wickets each and Akash claimed 1.
In reply, MGCA bundled out for 113 runs in 28.3 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 70 runs. Dhruv Parpar top scored with 33 runs, while Aarav and Ayush contributed 13 and 8 runs to the total respectively. For MIER CA, Ashank took 6 important wickets, while Karmanya bagged 2 wickets. For his magnificent all-round show, Ashank was declared as the man of the match.
The match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik and Ashok Kumar as umpires.
Mr Abrol was the chief guest on the occasion, while Rajesh Dhar, Chairman Media Committee JKCA was the guest of honour and cricket promoter Shashi Pal was the special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Abrol said that the objective of organizing this HoT Weather Tournament is to provide opportunity to the young cricketers to showcase their skill and talent in sweltering heat and build their stamina and endurance.
He informed that three teams will be participating in the Tournament namely MIER Cricket Academy, Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy and Sidhant Cricket Academy.
