AKJK students bring laurels to J&K, win medals in National Karate C’ship

JAMMU, Mar 29: Students of Association of Karate Jammu and Kashmir (AKJK) have brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir by winning medals in the National Karate Championship, organised by National Karate Federation and hosted by Haryana Sports Karate Association at Kurukshetra Haryana.
In the championship, various age and weight categories karatekas of Jammu and Kashmir won different medals in various categories of Kata and Kumite. Many officials also qualified for Refree and Judge exams. Some students also qualified belt grading test.
Belt grading and referee seminar were conducted by Ashok Darda.
The students, who won gold medals, were Shivay Hangloo, Tanmay Gupta and Shreeya Labroo, while the silver medals were clinched by Manik Dhar, Abhimanyu Singh, Unique Khangwal and Mohit Singh. The bronze medal winners were Gurpreet Singh, Shreeya Labroo, Shagun Chib, Laksh Bhat, Rishab Makroo and Aman Sanjwal.
Those who qualified Judge and Referee exams were Amit Singh, Vikas Dhar, Abhimanyu Singh, Ayushman Dass, Surjeet Dogra, Mohit Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Shreeya Labroo, Revati Nandan, Unique Khangwal and Anshuman Sharma.
The students were accompanied by Vikas Dhar as Team Coach and Sanjeev Pal as Team Manager.
