JAMMU, Mar 24: The AITA Championship Series (CS-7), organized by the Jammu & Kashmir Lawn Tennis Association under the aegis of the J&K Sports Council, moved into its second day at the Tennis Complex, MA Stadium. This national junior event showcases top young talents from across India, with a focus on the Boys’ U-18 category.
Day two highlighted commanding performances in the Boys’ U-18 Doubles Quarterfinals, where J&K players dominated the proceedings. In the first quarterfinal, Mahijith Kaura of Punjab and Hardeep Soodan of J&K defeated Arsh Arora and Simritjit of J&K by 6-0, 6-0.
In the second quarterfinal, Ridham Angral and Vinamr Gupta of J&K defeated Arav and Parth Gupta of J&K by 6-1, 6-2. In the third quarterfinal, Saksham Amla of J&K and Simarpreet Singh of Delhi defeated Vivek and Viraj of J&K by 6-0, 6-0.
In the fourth quarterfinal, Naman Tak of J&K and Aarya Patkar of Maharashtra defeated Nakul Mehra and Piyush of J&K by 6-0, 6-0. Local pairs secured three wins, underlining J&K’s doubles strength, bolstered by interstate talent. These bagel sets indicate semifinals packed with intensity. The championship boosts Jammu’s tennis stature, providing vital competitive exposure at a top facility, while JKLTA’s hosting nurtures future national stars through structured play.
