JAMMU, Nov 15: Hiranagar Hockey Club defeated Young Star Simbal Camp by six goals to nil (6-0), while Guru Nanak Hockey Club held Young Star Simbal Camp to a goalless draw in the ongoing Shaheed Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Hockey Tournament, being organized by Kashmir Sikh Sangat, under the auspices of Hockey J&K at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here today.
In the first match, the players of Guru Nanak Hockey Club and Young Star Simbal Camp, though made many efforts to score a goal, yet both failed to score in the stipulated time and the match ended in a goalless draw.
In another match, Hiranagar Hockey Club thrashed Singh Club Bandurakh by (6-0) in a one-sided affair. The first goal was scored by Sanjay in 6th minute, which was followed by the second goal scored by Digvijay in 26th minute. The 3rd goal was scored by Rohit Sharma in 28th minute and the fourth goal by Vishal Verma in 35th minute. The 5th and the sixth goals were pelted by Shelav Sharma in 50th and 59th minutes respectively.
Dr Taranjeet Singh was the chief guest in today’s proceedings, while the matches were officiated by Gurjeet Singh, Jagjeet Singh, Joginder Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Daljeet Singh Bhatia, manjeet Singh and GS Bakshi.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were SS Bali, Manjeet Singh, Teeraj Singh, KN Singh and JB Singh.
