Sanil’s 9-wkt haul powers J&K to victory

JAMMU, Dec 8: Jammu and Kashmir recorded a commanding 134-run victory over Arunachal Pradesh in the U-16 Men’s Vijay Merchant Trophy at Surat, powered by an all-round masterclass from Sanil Singh and Karman Singh.
Batting first, J&K posted 344 runs, with Karman Singh scoring a brilliant 129 not out, supported by Aksh Sharma and Haadi Amin. In response, Arunachal Pradesh were bundled out for 111 runs, with Saksh top-scoring with 57.
Sanil Singh was the star with the ball, claiming 9 wickets in the match-5 in the first innings and 4 in the second. Tariq Nabi, Rajveer Singh, Rigav Anand and Smagey Khajuria also contributed to a disciplined bowling effort. Earlier, Arunachal Pradesh were restricted to 99 runs in their first innings by Sanil Singh (5/21) and Jaskaran Singh (3/13).
