SRINAGAR, Dec 4: In a remarkable sporting achievement, Nasir Aejaz Sufi, a student of a Government School Baramulla, has been selected to represent India at the World School Volleyball Championship (U-15), scheduled to be held from December 4 to 13 in Shangluo, China.
Nasir’s selection came after rigorous nationwide trials conducted by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), with the final confirmation made in Pune. Following his selection, he underwent intensive training at a national coaching camp in Ranchi, Jharkhand, building on the foundational skills he honed in J&K under the expert guidance of coaches Azhar Raina and Naresh Kumar, guided by Anuradha Gupta, Director General, Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K.
The Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, extended heartfelt congratulations to Nasir, his parents, and coaches, applauding his dedication and the structured support provided by the J&K sports system. Officials emphasized that this milestone marks the beginning of a promising journey and expressed confidence that Nasir’s success would inspire countless young athletes from the Union Territory to aim for excellence on national and international platforms.
