JAMMU, Nov 18: The 3rd J&K Table Tennis Ranking Championships 2025 concluded at the Indoor Sports Complex. The highlight of the event was the triumph of Maanay Mansotra in the Men’s Singles category and Nitya Arora in the Women’s Singles, both of whom delivered outstanding performances to clinch their respective titles.
In the Men’s Singles final, Maanay defeated Akash by 3-2 in a tense and thrilling encounter that kept spectators glued to their seats. Earlier, in the semifinals, Maanay overcame Akhilesh by 3-1, while Akash registered a convincing 3-0 victory over Samarth Nischal to book his place in the final.
The Women’s Singles final saw an impressive display of skill by Nitya Arora, who defeated Mishti Aggarwal by 3-1. Nitya dominated the crucial points and maintained steady control throughout the match, ensuring her victory. Her win in the senior category came after already performing strongly in the junior segments, further establishing her as one of the standout players of the tournament.
Chief guest for the event, Javed Ur Rehman, Divisional Sports Officer (Kashmir), praised the Table Tennis Association of J&K and the J&K Sports Council for hosting the championship under the “My Youth My Pride” initiative. The championship featured strong participation across multiple age groups. The results across all categories were as follows: In Hops Girls (U-11), Syrah Dewan emerged winner followed by Ira Dadwal, while in Hops Boys (U-11), Satvik Nischal claimed the title with Akshaj Garg as runner-up. The Cadet Boys (U-13) title went to Saiyam Nischal, with Aahaan Anand finishing second.
In Cadet Girls (U-13), Syrah Dewan secured first place and Alena Arora stood runner-up. Saiyam Nischal also won the Sub-Junior Boys (U-15) category with Aahaan Anand again finishing second, while in Sub-Junior Girls (U-15), Myrah Dewan clinched the title with Syrah Dewan as runner-up. In Junior Boys (U-17), Samarth Nischal emerged winner followed by Saiyam Nischal, and in Junior Girls (U-17), Nitya Arora topped the category with Arushika Dabar taking second place. The Junior Boys (U-19) title was won by Saiyam Nischal, with Hunny finishing runner-up, while in Junior Girls (U-19), Nitya Arora secured first place followed by Myrah Dewan. In Veteran Men, Amit clinched the title with Vipin as runner-up.
Prominent personalities present on the occasion included Satbir Singh, Ajay Sharma, Arshi (Manager, Indoor Sports Complex), Maninder Singh, Rajan Sharma, Meenu Rajesh, Salim Bandey, Vasu Dewan, Narinder Singh, Sheetal Gandotra, NIS Coaches Gurvinder Singh and Asad Sharma and Naveen Nischal.
