JAMMU, Oct 19: Jammu and Kashmir registered a convincing 8-wicket win over Bihar in the ongoing Senior Women’s T20 Tournament at the IS Bindra International Stadium, Mohali.
Chasing a modest target of 87 runs, J&K reached the total in 15.1 overs, losing just two wickets. Bawandeep Kaur starred with a fluent 36 runs with four boundaries and was named Player of the Match, while Ruqiya Amin chipped in with a solid 29 runs. Sanjana added 17 runs and skipper Jasia Akhter remained unbeaten on 1.
Earlier, Bihar, opting to bat first, posted 87/7 in their 20 overs. Yashita Singh top-scored with 32 runs, while P Priya added 22. J&K bowlers dominated the innings, with Sandhya Sayal and Ananaya Sharma taking 2 wickets each, while Sarla Devi, Rubia Syed and Ruqiya Amin claimed one apiece. This win marks J&K’s first victory in the tournament, with three of their earlier matches having ended in nail-biting finishes.
