1st Tawi Sports J&K Non-Medallists Badminton Tourney commences

JAMMU, June 12: The 1st Tawi Sports J&K Non-Medallists Badminton Tournament 2025 was inaugurated at Police Line Badminton Hall, Gulshan Ground, here, amid an enthusiastic atmosphere.
Vinod Kumar, DIG Armed/IRP Jammu, graced the occasion as the chief guest and declared the tournament open. The event has attracted over 275 players, who will compete in various categories including Girls and Boys Singles (Under 11, 13, 17), as well as Seniors Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
The tournament is being organised by the Kings Badminton Club in collaboration with the Jammu City Badminton Club and has been officially sanctioned by Badminton Association of J&K (BAJK) through the Jammu City & District Badminton Association.
Several notable personalities were present at the inaugural function, including Dr. OD Sharma, Vice President of Badminton Association of India, Gulzar Singh Slathia, former IGP and Balbir Singh Jamwal, General Secretary, BAJK. Others present included Basanti Bhat, Kirti Sharma, Sarvanan, Vivek Mehta, Adv. Vikas Sharma, Sukhdev Singh and Manchit Choudhary, who is serving as the Organising Secretary.
The matches are being officiated by certified badminton coaches Anil Gurkha, Divam Gupta and Preeti Gupta.
