SRINAGAR, May 22: Seventh J&K UT Atya Patya Championship, organised by J&K Atya Patya Association was inaugurated by Commanding Officer Lau 125 Battalion- The Guards at Gindun Stadium Ground Rajbagh, here today.
A total 540 players of 45 teams from the 15 districts are taking part in the championship in the categories including Sub Junior (Boys & Girls), Junior (Boys & Girls) and Senior (Men & Women).
The championship is being organised under the aegis of Atya Patya Federation of India and supported by J&K Sports Council and Indian Army Unit-The Guards.
The Commanding Officer assured that the Army unit will be always ready for organizing any ‘Atya Patya Championship’ whether it is domestic or national level. “First time, the Association has seen huge participation of players especially from rural areas of J&K in the game,” he asserted.
Later, Mudasir Hassan, general secretary of the Association presented a vote of thanks.
