JAMMU, June 8: Senior J&K Ranji Trophy player Randhir Singh Jamwal inaugurated the 6th Summer Cricket Coaching Camp for boys and girls at Parade Ground, Jammu. Organized by the Parade Sports Association in collaboration with Laxmi Cricket Club, the three-week-long camp aims to nurture young cricket talent aged 12 to 16 years.
The camp is being supervised by senior Ranji cricketer Harsh Nayyar, who is also the Chief Organizer. A panel of experienced coaches including Rohit Bhat, Anju Gupta, Sameer Khajuria and Vikram Dogra will be training the budding players. Former J&K Ranji captains Sanjay Sharma and Kawaljeet Singh, along with senior cricketer Pardeep Bali, will provide expert guidance.
Kapil Dev Mahajan, Pawan Gupta and Adv. Rajesh Jaitly are serving as the Organizing Secretaries, while Vikrant Sharma, Vikram Singh Bhadwal and Vikrant are managing the camp’s daily operations.
The camp curriculum includes skill-based training in batting, bowling, wicket-keeping and fielding, along with sessions on physical fitness, yoga, and meditation to enhance concentration and mental toughness. Senior national-level cricketers will also deliver lectures on the technical aspects of the game.
Routine medical checkups, dietary guidance, and physiotherapy techniques will also be part of the holistic development approach. Chief Guest Sanjay Sharma lauded the initiative, stating that such camps are vital for identifying and polishing young cricketing talent in the region.
