28th District Jammu Taekwondo C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Dec 18: The 28th District Jammu Taekwondo Championships 2025-26 concluded at Indoor Hall, Bhagwati Nagar, here today following two days of high-energy competitions from December 17-18. The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from schools, academies and taekwondo centres, reflecting the growing popularity of the sport in the region.
The closing ceremony was graced by Rajeev Sharma, Member, J&K Sports Council, as chief guest, along with Ajay Sharma, General Secretary, J&K Table Tennis Association, Ritika Salathia, Manager, Indoor Hall Bhagwati Nagar and Subhash Shastri, President, NSM. Special guests included Avinandan Sharma, Principal, Vivekananda Public School, Pankaj Mehra, Vipin Kumar, Brinder Singh Manhas and Narayan Dass.
Ramesh Chander Sharma, President, Taekwondo Association of District Jammu, praised players, coaches, referees and the organizing team for the smooth conduct of the event.
In the overall team standings, Atul International Taekwondo Academy won the Overall Trophy, Doon International School was Runner-Up and JKSC Taekwondo Centre secured 2nd Runner-Up. Notable gold medallists included Divyansh (Sub Junior Boys U-21 kg), Anshu Kumar (U-23 kg), Aryan Lakhotra (U-25 kg), Aarav Singh (U-27 kg), Keshav Choudhary (U-29 kg), Vanshu Charak (U-32 kg), Sameer Shah (U-35 kg), Danish Kohli (U-38 kg), Simrenjit (U-41 kg), Rehaan Gupta (U-50 kg), Ansh Basan (Over 50 kg), Samaira (Sub Junior Girls U-22 kg), Avneet (U-24 kg), Meghna Sharma (U-26 kg), Yashika Bharti (U-29 kg), Aliya Wani (U-32 kg), Mamta Devi (U-35 kg), Paridhi Khadotra (U-38 kg) and Maria Manzoor Khan (U-41 kg).
