20th J&K Football tourney concludes, Taj distributes prizes

SRINAGAR, July 1: The 20th J&K Football tournament concluded, here yesterday evening.
Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services & Sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed prizes among the players.
In the final, J&K Police beat J&K Bank by a solitary goal and the goal scorer was Imtiyaz in 50th minute of the match.
In all 38 teams from all across the State participated in the tournament.
Addressing the concluding function, the Minister said the Government is giving are look to sports infrastructure in the State. He said many more stadia and fields would be constructed in the State and the existing sports infrastructure would further be strengthened.
Taj said every panchayats in the State would have a sports field and every block would have a sports complex. He said sensing the need of sports activities during winter months; the Government would construct indoor sports stadia in every block of the State.
On the development of TRC grounds, the Minister said work is on to develop an international football ground there on which matches of national and international standard would be played.
Later, the Minister distributed prizes among the winning players.
