JAMMU, Sept 5: Two day long 14th State Athletic Championship, organized by Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Athletic Association concluded at MA Stadium, here today.
On the valedictory function, Tsering Angchok, Excise Commissioner was the chief guest, who presented certificates and medals to the winners and runners-ups.
Rangil Singh, President J&K Athletic Association, Prof Ashutosh Sharma, Chairman, Indian Olympic Association, Dr Nirmolak Singh, Ravinder Singh, Sunil Mahajan, Vikas Gupta, Naresh Tony, Rajan Sharma, Ravi Singh, Ravinder Singh, President J&K Cycling Association, SS Gill, Vinod, Ajay Sharma, Sahil Raina, Amarjeet Singh, coaches of J&K Sports Council and members of the Organising Committee were also present.
In under-16 boys, Amarjeet, Sahil Kumar and Abid clinched first, second and third positions respectively in 200 meters, whereas in under-18 boys, Vishavjeet, Rahul Singh and Harneet Singh emerged winners.
In under-20 boys, Mohammad Ishtaq, Tarun and Ishan bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In 4×400 meters relay, Abhinav, Kulbir, Imtaz and Lavjeet emerged first, Ranjay, Rahul Chauhan, Koushal and Angrez Singh bagged second position and Sahil, Asaf, Jhangir and Owaiss secured third rank.
