JAMMU, Aug 24: Inter School Zonal Level Tournament for Under-19 boys in the sports disciplines of Kabaddi, Volleyball and Wrestling concluded today, while the Zonal Level Tournament of Under-19 girls in the sports disciplines of Kabaddi, Volleyball and Kho Kho of district Jammu got underway at different venues here today.
The competitions are being organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports under the patronage of Madan Lal, Joint Director, Youth Services & Sports and under the overall supervision of Chanchal Kour, District Youth Services & Sports Jammu.
Zonal Physical Education Officers Jasbir Singh, Ravi Manhas, Anju Gupta, Tarsem Singh and Poonam Kotwal are the Organising Secretaries of the Tournament.
The main objective of the Tournaments is to select the teams of Jammu District for Divisional Level Inter-District Tournament.
In Kabaddi U-19 boys final, Govt HSS Mandal beat Shiksha Niketan HSS Jevan Nagar by (32-10) poits, while in Volleyball Under-19 boys final, Shiksha Niketan HSS Jevan Nagar beat Govt HSS Sunjwan by (2-0 ) sets.
In Kabaddi Under-19 girls, Carmel Convent beat Govt HSS Satwari by (15-8) points, while in Kho-Kho Under-19 girls, Govt HSS Shastri Nagar drubbed RM College Chowadhi by (4-1) points and
Shiksha Niketan Jeevan Nagar trounced Govt Girls HSS Surinsar by (3-2) points.
At Ved Mandir Amphalla, the Tournament for Under-19 girls in the disciplines of KHo-Kho, Volleyball and Kabaddi was held under the supervision of ZPEO Jammu, Ravi Manhas and ZPEO Dansal Tarsem Singh.
The Tournament in which 193 girls drawn from various schools of Dansal and Jammu Zones was inaugurated by Reena Rajput, Principal of Bharti Vidya Mandir, Amphalla.
The Tournament in the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball and Wrestling for Under-19 boys and girls was held AT Govt HSS Doomana under the supervision of ZPEO, Jasbir Singh
Matches were officiated by Mahadev Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Vikram Singh, Narender Sharma, Sunny Dogra, Anil Gandotra, Jatinder Kumar, Tony Mattoo, Vishal Jamwal, Kulbir Singh, Gulbir Singh, Anil, Tarsem, Sunil Abrol, Sunil Kumar, Hardev Singh, Basant Ram, Puspinder, Sunita Kumari, Jatinder Kour, Mohim Akhter, Nirmal Singh, Jagjeet Singh, Rajesh, Ravinder Singh, Harpreet Bhalla and Rajiv Kumar.
