Excelsior Sports Correspondent
JAMMU, June 28: Former Ranji trophy cricketer Ankush Abrol has sought Governor NN Vohra’s intervention to save the J&K State Sports Council from ruining.
In a handout issued, Abrol said that Sports Council is being run by corrupt and unscrupulous people, who have no sports background.
“Crores of rupees have been swindled and there is no accountability. Genuine sportspersons are being ignored and those who raise voice against the officials of the Sports Council particularly Secretary are being targeted”, he added.
He appealed to the Governor to intervene in the matters of the J&K State Sports Council and safeguard the interest of the sportspersons.
Abrol informed that a group of prominent sportspersons will meet Governor and seek a white paper issued with regard to the purchases and financial spending by the Secretary, J&K State Sports Council to expose the culprits.
