Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan celebrates Annual Day

JAMMU, Apr 8: Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Shri Ranbir Campus celebrated its Annual Day, here today.
Central Information Commissioner, New Delhi, Prof M Sridhar Acharyulu was the chief guest on the occasion. The function was presided over by Ramanuja Devanathan, Principal of the Campus .
In his address, Prof Acharyulu said that right to information is for getting information only. We should not expect knowledge from it. He said that Ramanuja was the first propounded the right to information when he made public the mantra which was believed to bring salvation to the person who recited it. He said by asking questions we get knowledge.
He further said that there are many countries in the world for which Sanskrit has linkage, adding strengthening Sanskrit can strengthen our linkages at the national and international levels.
In his presidential address, Principal, Prof. Ramanuja Devanathan said that we cannot solve any problem unless we know the root cause of that problem.
On this occasion, the dignitaries gave away prizes to the students who emerged winners in various competitions. They also inaugurated a language lab and released “Punati” – a collection of research papers on the Vedas and “Shri Vaishnavi” – the annual campus magazine.
Earlier, the dignitaries lighted the ceremonial lamp. Dr. Deepak Kumar Sharma and Sneha Pandey recited the Vaidik Managalacharana and Pauranic Managalacharana, respectively.
Sneha Pandy also presented a welcome song, while Prof. KB Subbarayudu welcomed the guests and Prof. Bachcha Bharati presented the vote of thanks.
The Annual Report was read out by Sharat Chander Sharma.
The Programme was conducted by Dr. Satish Kumar Kapoor, who was assisted by Dr Madan Singh.
