NSS Day celebrated in Educational institutions across Jammu

JAMMU, Sept 24: In connection with celebration of the 40th Foundation Day of National Service Scheme (NSS) grand functions were held in educational institutions across Jammu region today.
The Day was celebrated in NSS Unit of Government College of Education Jammu.
Prof. Sangeeta Nagai was the chief guest on the occasion and the programme was inaugurated with lighting of ceremonial lamp. Prof Sunita Devi, Programme Officer of the NSS presented the welcome address.
The Day was also celebrated in Government Degree College Kathua with great fervor and enthusiasm. Principal of the College, Dr Kulvinder Kour presided over the function.
In order to celebrate the day volunteers of NSS Unit of Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur visited the Old Age Jagrati Parisar and Bal Ashram Udhampur and donated essentials catering to their basic needs.
Then NSS Day was also celebrated at Government Degree College, R S Pura under the supervision of Dr Namita Singh, NSS Programme Officer. The programme was held under the guidance of Principal of the College, Prof Kalpana Kesar.
The GDC Akhnoor celebrated the Day in the College Seminar Hall. The programme was inaugurated by the Principal of the College, Prof Kuldeep Raj Sharma who was the chief guest on then occasion. He was also accompanied by Dr Chander Shekhar , Prof Ashok Kumar and Prof Tarseem Lal.
The NSS Day was also celebrated by GDC Thanamandi and Principal of the College Prof Shakeel Ahmed Raina was the chief guest on the occasion. A speech on NSS motto was presented by NSS Volunteer Shabnam on the occasion.
The volunteers of NSS Unit of Government Degree College Boys , Udhampur celebrated the Day in the college premises.
Principal of the College, Dr Udhey Bhanu was the chief guest on the occasion who inaugurated the programme. He in his address also highlighted the importance of the Day.
