JAMMU, Mar 17: Two days National Seminar on the ‘Changing Dynamics of India’s Foreign Policy’, concluded in the Seminar Hall of Department of Political Science, University of Jammu, here today.
The concluding day today began with fourth technical session titled Indian Ocean, Climate Change and United States in India’s Foreign Policy was held.
The Session was chaired by Professor KS Sidhu, Department of Defence and Strategic Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala.
In this session, Professor Baljit Singh, Convener of Seminar presented paper titled India’s Response to the Geopolitics of Indian Ocean in the 21st Century. Professor Rajpal Budania, Department of Political Science, University of Allahabad presented paper titled Transformation of India’s Strategic Engagement with the United States.
Neetika Verma, Ph.D Scholar presented paper titled India’s Multi-Pronged Strategy in the Indian Ocean, while Shaveta Chowdhary Ph.D Scholar presented paper on India’s Climate Change Policy: Continuity and Change.
Fifth Technical Session titled Changing Contours of India’s Policy toward West Asia and Southeast Asia was chaired by Professor M Tajuddin, HoD Political Science, University of Jammu, Jammu. Dr Naseema Akther, Department of Political Science, University of Kashmir, Srinagar presented paper on “India’s attitude towards Palestine Problem and its Strategic Ties with Israel”, Dr. Shah Alam, Assistant Professor, Indo-Arab Cultural Centre, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi presented paper on “India’s Changing Policy towards West Asia”, Dr. Neelam Choudhary, Assistant Professor, Directorate of Distance Education, University of Jammu presented paper titled “India’s Approach towards Regionalism & Multilateralism: Trends, Factors and Implications”, Pooja Charak, Ph.D Scholar presented paper titled, “Trends in India’s Look East Policy: A Comparative Analysis” and Shivani Sharma, Ph.D Scholar presented paper titled, “Emerging Trends in India-Pakistan Relations”.
Sixth technical session titled Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh and Human Rights in India’s Foreign Policy was chaired by Prof Rajpal Budania, Department of Political Science, Allahabad University, Allahabad. Prof. Karori Singh, South Asian Studies Centre, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur presented paper on “India’s Policy towards Sri Lanka in the 21st Century”, Prof Kamal Kinger, Department of Defence & Strategic Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala spoke on “India- Bangladesh Relations: Emerging Trends”, Reetika Sharma, Ph.D Scholar presented paper on “India-China Relations: Affinity & Estrangement” and Natasha Manhas presented paper on “India- Nepal Relations: Problems and Prospects”.
The proceedings of Valedictory Session were presided over by Prof. Desh Bandu Gupta, Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu.
