Jammu, Sept 18: On the fourth day of ‘Display Your Talent-2018′ organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, the event of Light Vocal Solo was conducted at Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, here today.
Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Parmeshwari Sharma, Chairman Campus Cultural Committee, Prof SK Pandita, Assistant Deans (SW) Dr Anil Gupta and Dr Garima Gupta, members of campus cultural committee, students’ cultural council and office bearers of the University of Jammu were present during the event.
In Light Vocal Solo, 65 students participated in which Shubham Banarjee from Institute of Music and Fine Arts was adjudged First. The Second position was shared by Anil Kumar from Institute of Music and Fine Arts and Vishwa Gandharav from the Deptt. of Law. The Third position was also shared by Nandani from GCW Parade and Varsha Jamwal from GDC Paloura.
The Certificate of Merit was awarded to Vishali Devi from GDC Udhampur. Sham Sajan, Om Parkash Thappar and Monu Kumar were the Judges and Dr Savita Nayyar was the Teacher In-Charge for the event.
The event was coordinated by Ifra Kak (Cultural Officer) and Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor). Rajat Salgotra, Richa Sharma, Avneet Kour, Sunny Singh, Saloni Verma, Shumalini, Tegdhar Kour, Parveen Kumar, Ajay Vaid and Rupashi Wazir looked after the Hall Management.
The sound was operated by Kulbhushan Thakur and Arif Paul.
Four events namely Classical Vocal, Semi Classical Vocal, Classical Instrumental Percus-sion and Classical Instrumental Non-Percussion would be conducted from 10 am onwards at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium.
