DODA, May 29: Everest Bhalessa and Friends Cricket Club (FCC) Ghat crushed rivals in their respective matches and registered berth on the semis of the ongoing All India 12th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship, being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by J&K Bank and Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda at Sports Stadium here.
In the first quarterfinal match, Everest Bhalessa batting first set a target of 223 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Aamir Wani and Deepak played a splendid inning of 82 and 77 runs respectively.
For Firdous XI side, Riyaz scalped 3 wickets, while Aaqib Khan took 2 wickets.
In reply, Firdous XI could not chase the target and bundled out at 183 runs in 17.4 overs. Zahid Rasool was the highest scorer with 67 runs while Kafeel Fayaz made 37 runs.
For Everest Bhalessa, Irshad and Aamir Wani proved their bowling mettle and clinched 5 wickets each.
Aamir Wani of Everest Bhalessa team was declared as Man of the Match.
In the second quarterfinal match, FCC Ghat won the toss and elected to bat first. FCC Ghat made 202 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Hardeep Singh and Ankur Singh were the highest scorers with 58 and 48 runs respectively.
From Doda Super Kings, Anchal and Sunny scalped 2 wickets each.
In the second inning, Doda Super Kings failed to chase the target and bundled out at 103 runs for all out in 15.2 overs. Uttam Thakur and Rahul were the top scorers with 33 and 32 runs respectively.
From FCC Ghat side, Kartik took 3 wickets while Hardeep and Ankit pocketed 2 wickets each.
Hardeep Singh of FCC Ghat was declared as Man of the Match.
The matches were officiated by Munish Zutshi, Bharat Jajuriya and Aayush Sharma as umpires, while Rinku Bhaduria acted as scorer and Ashok Sharma (Video Analyst) was third umpire.
