Edu, YSS Deptts move on same wavelength: Navin Agarwal

JAMMU, Apr 22: The Department of Education and the Department of Youth Services and Sports are two sides of the same coin as for as the all-round development of the children is concerned. And, the two agencies move on the same wavelength in the present era, resulting in building a healthy society.
This was stated by Navin Agarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports while distributing sports kits among 100 schools drawn from 10 districts of Jammu division, with 10 schools from each district, in a well attended function at the Auditorium of Government College for Women (GCW), Parade, here today.
The Director General was accompanied by Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Ved Prakash; CEO Kishtwar, Rajinder Singh and Assistant Director Youth Services and Sports, Rupinderjeet Kaur.
The function was attended by a large number of Principals and Lecturers, besides Youth Services and Sports Officers of all 10 districts of Jammu division.
While replying to a question put up by one of the speakers with regard to shortage of Physical Education Lecturers in Government Institutions, Mr Agarwal said that the Department was not having its own Gazetted Rules earlier and now the Rules have been framed and the vacancies of Physical Education Lecturers will be filled soon by Public Service Commission (PSC).
Earlier, Ved Prakash presented welcome address and threw light on the objective of the function.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Rajinder Kotwal from Department of Youth Services and Sports.
