AKHNOOR, Oct 2: Akhnoor XI registered a thrilling 4-run win over Jammu XI in an exhibition T20 cricket match at Government Higher Secondary School, here today.
Batting first, Akhnoor XI, scored a decent total of 188 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Manik Sharma top scored with 62 runs, while Sonu Manhas contributed valuable 50 runs to the total. Sunil Sharma and Pankaj Kumar chipped in with 18 and 17 runs respectively. For Jammu XI, Satish took 3 wickets, while Happy claimed 2 wickets. Rana and Manjeet shared one wicket each.
In reply, JAMMU XI scored 184 runs to lose the match by a narrow margin of 4 runs. Puneet top scored with 47 runs, while Atul Sharma scored 42 runs. Satish and Manjeet Singh contributed 22 and 18 runs respectively. From Akhnoor XI, Arush Chandan and Sunny Mahi shared 3 wickets each, while Parveen Sharma took 2 wickets. Arush Chandan was declared as the man of the match.
Sham Singh Langeh, president Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed prizes among the teams.
