UDHAMPUR, Dec 30: Aman Kalsotra, Director CSCA and official District Udhampur Chess Association informed that four players from District Udhampur have been selected to participate in J&K State Chess Championship scheduled to be held from January 1 to January 5, 2017 at Srinagar.
The Championship is being conducted by All Jammu and Kashmir State Chess Association, affiliated to All India Chess Federation.
The list also includes the youngest champion of the State namely Shivanshi.
The selected players include Ravinder Atri, Madhav Sharma, Rashiv Khajuria, students of Govt ML Higher Secondary School Boys, Udhampur and Shivanshi, student of Kendriya Vidhalya No-1 Udhampur.
It is pertinent to mention here that the players were selected on their performance in District Level Championship, conducted by District Udhampur Chess Association.
Players who will perform well at the State Level Championship will further be recommended for National Level Championship.
