REASI, Feb 14: With the holding of 20th Kesari Vishal Dangal at Ransoo, base camp of holy shrine, the annual three days Shiv Khori Mela concluded here today.
During three days festival lakhs of tourists from various parts of the state and outside witnessed the holy event and performed the holy darshan of the cave amid chanting of bhajans and devotional songs of Bolay Nath ji.
The dangal was organized by J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association in collaboration with tourism department, Shiv Khori Dangal Committee and district administration Reasi.
Executive Officer Shiv Khori Shrine Board Om Prakash was chief guest on the occasion, while Tehsildar Pouni Rajesh Barru, DYSSO Dr SS Chib and DySP Nikhil Gogna were the guests of honour.
As many as 34 bouts were fought during the competition in which local wrestlers and wrestlers from various parts of the state and outside states took part.
Kapil of Delhi was declared as the winner of Kesari Dangal who was also awarded Rs 13,000 and other gifts while as the runners-up Wrestler Akram of Jammu was given cash prize of Rs 8,000 by the chief guest.
The second and third bouts were won by Ajay Sharma of Udhampur and Babba of Jammu with cash award of Rs 10,000 and 7,000 each respectively. A cash prize of 8,000 and 5,000 each were also awarded to runners-up of the Wrestling competition.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest stressed on encourging youth towards games and sports and spoke on their role for health benefits. He said that the event has become cementing force between people of different regions and provided encouragement to the local wrestlers.
The Dangal Committee extended thanks to the organizing team and all those who extended financial and physical support in smooth conduct of the wrestling match.
Kashmir Singh and Brem Singh were referees for the dangal competition.
