REASI, May 9: Inter-School Tournament of Zone Reasi for Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Wrestling (boys) concluded at General Zorawar Sports Stadium, here today.
Assistant Commissioner Meterology, Kuldeep Raj was the Chief Guest on the Closing Ceremony whereas Shakti Singh was the Guest of Honour.
About 600 boys and girls drawn from various Government and Private Institutions of Zone Reasi participated in these two days Competitions.
The Tournament was organized as per the directions of the Department of Youth Services & Sports under the supervision of Dr SS Chib, District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Reasi.
Final Results: Girls Section: Kho-Kho, Under 14 Girls- Amba Kids Panthal beat MS Upper Seela by 3-2.
Under 17 Girls- GHSS Reasi defeated HS Sirah by 6-4.
Kabaddi-Under 14 Girls, HS Gran beat GHSS Reasi by 29-18.
Under 17 Girls: HS Kanjali drubbed HS Katra by 27-13.
Volleyball, Under 17 Girls: GHSS Reasi defeated HS Kambal Danga by 25-23, 25-21.
Boys Section: Kho-Kho-Under 14 Boys- Amba Kids Panthal got better of Heritage Public School by 15-04.
Under 17 Boys-HS Nomain defeated HSS Panthal by 10-07.
Kabaddi, Under 14 Boys: HS Gran defeated Heritage Public School by 39-20.
Under 17 Boys: HS Aghar Jitto got better of HS Nomaon by 33-31.
Volleyball
Under 14 Boys: HS Kambal Danga defeated Amba Kids Home Panthal in the two straight sets and the score remains 25-15, 25-22.
Under 17 Boys: HS Kambal Danga beat HS Kanjali by 25-22, 25-23.
Meanwhile, Inter School District Level Competitions of District Jammu in the disciplines of Softball, Basketball, Handball, Netball and Throw Ball Under-14 and Under-17 boys were held at different venues in Jammu.
The competitions were organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports District Jammu under the Chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu and under the overall supervision of Sukhdev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu.
In Handball Under-14 boys final, Heritage beat St. Frances by 3-0 goals.
In Basketball Under-14 (Boys) quarterfinal, MHAC Nagbani beat DPS by 18-8; APS Sunjwan drubbed KC International by 14-06; St. Frances got better of APS Jammu Cantt by 6-5, while in Basketball Under-17 (Boys) quarterfinal, St. Frances beat St. Peter BC Road by 10-01; KC International trounced SOS by 8-4; JP world prevailed over APS Kalu Chak by 21-19; APS Ratnu Chak outplayed Jodhamal by 8-2.
The Department of Youth Services and Sports District Samba organized Inter School Zone Level Tournament Under-14 and Under-17 Girls under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Samba, Sunil Kumar. The tournament was played under the able guidance of Rakesh Verma, ZEPO Samba.
The Zonal Level Inter School competition of Volleyball, Kho-Kho and Kabbadi Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls of Buffliaz zone of district Poonch commenced at Govt High School Faizalabad.
Around 250 students participated from different schools of the Zone.
In Volleyball Under-14 , HS Fazlabad beat HSS Gunthal by 2-0 sets, while in Under-14 Kho-Kho, HS Fazlabad trounced MS Lower Sangla by 5 points.
