Vijay Merchant U-16 Cricket Tournament

srinagar, Oct 21: Magnificent centuries by Yuvraj Singh and Ahaan Poddar helped Haryana to score 390/2 on day-1 of the Vijay Merchant Under-16 Boys Cricket Tournament at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium Srinagar, today.
Earlier, Haryana won the toss and decided to bat first. Opening batsman Yuvraj Singh scored superb unbeaten 183 runs off 291 balls, studded with 27 fours, while Ahaan Poddar scored 167 runs off 208 balls with the help of 31 boundaries. The duo made a marathon partnership of 324 runs.
Skipper Nishant Sindhu (11) and Piyush Dahiya (13 n.o) were the other contributors.
At stumps, Yuvraj was unbeaten on 183 runs and Piyush on 13.
Basit Bashir and Dhruv Singh Parmar took one wicket each for Jammu and Kashmir. Basit bowled 15 overs and conceded 95 runs, while Dhruv bowled 22 overs by giving away 81 runs.Ranjot Singh, Agastya Sharma, Jugjap Singh and skipper Udhay Partap remained wicket-less.
