T-20 Christmas Celebrations Cup

DODA, Dec 18: Youth Scorchers, Firdous Eleven and United Doda registered splendid wins against their opponents in the ongoing T-20 Christmas Celebrations Cup, being organized by Doda Police Headquarters in collaboration with St. George Convent School Batote, here today.
The championship is being held under the guidance of Dr Sunil Gupta, DIG DKR with slogan ‘Be Healthy-Stay away from Drugs’ and under the supervision of Abdul Qayoom SSP Doda and Rajesh Gill former Ranji player, whereas DySP Showkat Ali, DySP Jaswant Singh, Arun Sharma SHO, Amir Karim Wani and Yasir Ali were among the members of the organizing committee.
In the first match, Youth Scorchers defeated Doda Superkings by 5 wickets. Batting first Doda Superkings scored 93 runs by losing 7 wickets with Muneeb 35 runs, Ajay 18 and Vikas 12 runs. From the bowling side, Adnan, Rishab and Babar Ali took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Youth Scorchers chased the target in 9.1 overs by losing 5 wickets and registered 5 wickets win. Nitin scored 35 runs, Akash made 26 runs while Aqib contributed 12 runs to the total. From the bowling side, Ravi and Vikas got 2 wickets each. Rishab was declared as man of the match for his outstanding bowling.
In another match Firdous Eleven drubbed Peer Panchal Gurmur by 56 runs. Batting first, Firdous XI made153 runs with the help of Arbaz’s 83 runs, Ashiq Mir’s 22 runs and Nasir’s 18 runs. From the bowling side, Mudaser, Shahid and Manoj took 1 wicket each. In reply Peer Panchal Gurmur could not chase the target and bundled out at 97 runs and lost the match by 56 runs. Zeeshan made 24 runs, Shahid scored 16 runs and Yasir contributed 14 runs and were the main batsmen who showed some batting skills. From the bowling side, Yasir Ganie took 5 wickets, while Javed took 2 wickets. Arbaz was adjudged as man of the match for his splendid batting.
In the 3rd match, United Doda got better of Bhalessa Cricket Club by 52 runs. Batting first United Doda scored 132 runs with Tahir Wani 59 runs, Furkan 40 runs and Rafaqat 16 runs. From the bowling side Romil took 2 wickets while Jatinder and Ashraf took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Bhalessa Cricket bundled out at 80 runs, thus losing the match by 52 runs. Umar Bhat (25), Vinay (13) and Azar (9) were among the contributors to the total. From the bowling side, Shahbaz took 5 wickets haul, while Bilal grabbed 2 wickets. Shahbaz was declared as man of the match for his best bowling display.
The matches were officiated by Sourav Katoch, Imran Kalal, Sagar Ittu, Yasir Dar, Nousher Bhat, Ajay Katoch and Babar Lone.
Combined-XI, Shining Club and New Sairaj will lock horns against Friends-XI, Asrariya Kishtwar and SDPO Gandoh-XI at 8 am, 11 am and 2 pm respectively, tomorrow.
