*Young Rovers to lock horns with Vijay Heroes today

JAMMU, Apr 5: Young Heroes registered 3-1 goals victory over Jammu Sports and sailed into the semifinal of the ongoing 1st Vishal Heer Memorial Football Tournament, being organised by Young Heroes Football Club under the aegis of J&K Football Association (JKFA) at Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College football ground today.
In the first half, players of both the teams with their exhibiting skills restricted each other to raise the scorecard and the first half ended with no goal.
In the second half, Rahul Ghai of Young Heroes raised the scorecard by netting the goal in the 46th minute.
As the players of Jammu Sports were trying to equalize the match, Vishal Sharma of Young Heroes with his excellent footwork scored the goal in the 60th minute and brought the opponent team under the pressure of two goals to zero.
Ashish of Jammu Sports brought some relief for the team mates by scoring the goal in the 63rd minute through penalty and restricting the scorecard to 2-1 goals.
Enthusiastic Rahul Ghai of Young Heroes bounced back and netted the goal in 66th minute and lifted the scoreboard to 3-1 goals.
After the goal in the 66th minute, the players of Jammu Sports were looking dominated and thus lost the match by 3-1 goals and paved way to Young Heroes to enter the semis of the tournament.
The yellow card was shown to Davian of Jammu Sports in 17th minute and to Vishal Kumar of Young Heroes in 19th minute.
The man of the match award was presented to Rahul Ghai of Young Heroes for scoring two goals.
The match was officiated by Tanpreet Singh, Harmanjeet Singh, Koushal Kumar and Rinku Gill.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Young Rovers will clash with Vijay Heroes in the second quarterfinal match of the tournament.
