JAMMU, Oct 23: Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) organized an outside state industrial visit cum educational tour for students of Civil Engg (Sem 5th) from October 18 to October 20, 2015.
The students were taken to Water Treatment Plant, Maloya, Chandigarh, JK Laxmi Ready Mix Plant, Mohali, Punjab Energy Development Building (PEDA), besides scenic spots in and around Chandigarh.
The students visited Water Treatment at Chandigarh, having the capacity of 45MGD (Million Gallon Per Day) and catering to the water consumption requirement in Chandigarh, part of Mohali and Panchkula. At JK Laxmi Ready Mix Plant, Mohali, the students had interaction with Er. Deepak Gupta, Quality Control Engineer, who gave detailed information about the RMC, its benefits and its applications.
Punjab Energy Development Building (PEDA), pioneers in having Green Building in India, offered a lot in terms of learning to the inquisitive students. Er. Balquar Singh, Executive Engineer briefed them on different facets of unconventional forms of energy, i.e. Solar Energy, Wind Energy, Tidal Energy. The industrial visits provided deep insight to the students and valuable exposure to budding Civil engineers.
The students also visited state-of-the-art labs at NITTTR, Chandigarh and attended the guest lecture and the workshop. They interacted with members of teaching fraternity who shared valuable information regarding latest technology in the field of Civil Engineering.
Taking some time out of the busy academic schedule, the students were also taken to some famous historical monuments and tourists attractions of the place.
The students were accompanied by Coordinator of the Civil Engineering Deptt Er. Rajnish Magotra, and other senior faculty members Er. Irshan Verma, Er. Nikita Gupta and Er. Anamika.
