JAMMU, Jan 25: YCC , JK Assembly and Janipur Club XI registered emphatic wins to stay alive in the 4th Eid-Diwali-Christmas T20 Cricket Cup, being played at Parade Ground, here.
The tournament in which 24 teams are participating is being organized jointly by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department, Simula Sports Club, Atman Sports Club and Christian Sports Organization.
In the first match YCC defeated Shahanshah Cricket Club by 30 runs.
Batting first, YCC XI scored 86 runs in stipulated 16 overs for all wickets, with Tayab (24) and Abid Mushtaq (18) being the main scorers. Bharat, Rahul, Manpreet and Jimmy took 2 wickets each for Shahanshah Club, while Shahid took 1 wicket.
Shahanshah Club, in reply could not achieve the target and bundled out for merely 56 runs in 13 overs by losing all wickets only thus lost the match by 30 runs. Manpreet, Shahid and Shafiq were the main scorers with 12,11 and 11 runs. Shehroz and Khalid took 3 wickets each, Abid Pathan took 2 wickets for YCC. Abid Mushtaq was adjudged as man of the match.
In the second match, JK Assembly scripted an easy win against Bahufort Club.
Batting first, Bahufort Club scored 63 runs for all wickets in 13.3 overs. Sunny was the only batsman of Bahufort Club who scored 20 runs rest no other batsman reach in double figure. Bilal took 3 wickets, Waqar claimed 2 wickets while Aijaz, Rayees and Abass shared 1 wicket each for JK Assembly XI.
JK Assembly chased the target in 12.2 overs of the game by losing 6 wickets, thus won the match by 4 wickets. Imran top scored with 23 runs, Zubair made 19 runs while Danish made 11 runs for the team. Gourav took 4 wickets, while Veenal and Danesh took 1 wicket each. Bilal was adjudged as man of the match.
In another match, Janipur Cricket XI defeated Secretariat Blue XI by 7 wickets.
Batting first, Janipur Cricket XI scored 158 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the allotted 16 overs. Aquib and Dimpal were the main batsmen who scored 61 and 60 runs. Asif, Imtiaz and Mushtaq shared 1 wicket each for Secretariat Blue XI.
In reply, Secretariat blue XI could not chase the target and made 111 runs only in the allotted 16 overs by losing 8 wickets. Idress was top scorer with 24 runs while Mohsin and Bilal contributed 14 and 11 runs for their team. Rahul took 3 wickets, while Shamasdeen, Mohit and Aquib shared 1 wicket each for Janipur Cricket XI. Aquib was declared as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Rajesh Gill, Kuldeep Kumar, Farooq, Anchal, Sandeep Manchanda, RP Singh, Vinod, Sunil Sambyal and Danny.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Cantt Cricket Club will take on ICC at 11.45 am, while BCC will lock horns with Secretariat Green XI at 2 pm.
