Team India all rounder Ravindra Jadeja today attributed the success of the three Indian spinners in the Aussies second innings on the fourth day of the first Test at the M A Chidambaram stadiu here to the condition of the pitch at the M A Chidambaam stadium.
‘The wicket helping lot of spin and turn’ he said at the post match press conference.
But the spinners had to land the ball in the right areas to hustle the Aussie batsmen, Jadeja who played the role of the left arm spinner in the team, said at the post match press conference.
He said India can romp home tomorrow if they get Australia’s last pair Moises Henriques and N Lyon out early on the fifth and the final day tomorrow.
Jadeja (2-68) said the two off-spinners R Ashwin (5-90 in the second innings) and Harbhajan Singh(2-55) bowled splendidly spin a web around the Aussie batsmen.
Asked how he felt about his own success as left arm spinner as he was picked more in batting all rounder slot, IPL T20’s most expensive player last season, said ‘my aim is to do well-batting or bowlling whenever I get a chance.’
‘You have to bat, bowl and field well’, he observed. (UNI)
