Week-long Inter-School Tournament concludes

KARGIL, May 30: Organized by Zonal Physical Education Officer Taisuru, the week-long Inter-School Tournament for the U-14, U-17 and U-19 Boys and Girls in the disciplines of handball, volleyball, table tennis, archery and athletics, concluded at Thulus Spang, Taisuru, here today.
In the week-long tournament, more than 50 teams with 1,110 male and female players/athletes of all age groups from 25 Government and private schools showcased their brilliant performances in volleyball, handball, table tennis, archery, shotput, discus throw, long jump, middle distance race and long-distance races.
In the concluding ceremony, Councilor Taisuru, Aga Syed Abass Rizvi was the chief guest while Councilor Parkachik Al-Haj Ghulam Mohammad was the guest of honour and Tehsildar Taisuru, Sajad Hussain was the special guest.
Moreover, the Zonal Education Officer Taisuru Akbar Ali, SHO Taisuru Mohammad Abdullah, Headmaster Kargee Feroze Ahmad Kakroo and Headmasters from all High Schools and Middle Schools were also present as guests on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, Councilor Aga Syed Abass Rizvi emphasized the general public to generously provide land for Sports Stadium. He further stressed on players and athletes to get specialization in specific games and sports for achieving bright career in sports.
In the final match for volleyball U-17 Boys, the Noon Public High School Taisuru defeated High School Kargee by 03-01 sets.
The chief guest along with other guests conferred 94 medals, 24 mementoes and 500 certificates to the winners and runner-up teams.
