REASI, Oct 27: District Police today organised Volleyball tournament under civic action programme in memory of police martyrs at Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament was inaugurated by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Rashmi Wazir wherein four Volleyball teams of district Reasi participated. The final match was won by Talwara team.
The players of winner and runner-up teams were awarded with cash prizes, certificates and mementos by the chief guest, SSP Reasi. Addl SP Surjeet Kumar, DySP Hqrs Iftikhar Ahmed, SHO Reasi Sumit Sharma and prominent citizens of the Reasi were also present during the tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, Rashmi Wazir highlighted the bravery, courage and valour of the martyrs and paid rich tribute to the martyred police personnel.
She said our martyrs without caring for their lives fought till their last breath for peace of J&K and gave supreme sacrifices of their lives while protecting and safeguarding the nation.
