POONCH, Mar 24: Volleyball matches of boys in Poonch Police Sports Festival got underway at Government Boys Higher Secondary Mandi, here today.
The Poonch Police Sports Festival is week-long festival being organized by District Police Poonch, under the overall supervision of Rajiv Pandey, SSP Poonch and the slogan of the event is “Choose Life not Drugs”.
SSP Poonch Rajiv Pandey was the chief guest on the occasion.
DySP Mohan Sharma, DySP Shahid Nayeem, SHO Mandi Som Raj, media persons, prominent citizens and large number of locals were also present on the occasion.
The locals on this occasion applauded the initiative of Poonch Police in promoting sports and channelizing energy of youth.
Today total four matches were played and the final match was played between Makhdoomi Club Jalian and Bedar Club, in which Makhdoomi Club Jalian lifted the trophy by defeating Bedar Club by 25-18 and 25-19.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Volleyball matches in Loren and Badminton matches in Poonch will be played.
