JAMMU, June 5: Vishal Cricket Club thrashed Royal Cricket Club by 6 wickets to emerge topper in their group in the ongoing JKCA District Level Cricket Tournament of District Jammu, being held under the overall supervision of Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member Judicial State Human Rights Commission and Member Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and electing to bat first, Royal Cricket Club scored 150 runs in 31.3 overs. Goutam top scored with 37 runs, while Vikas contributed 35 runs to the total. Rajeshwar and Romy chipped in with 17 and 11 runs. From Vishal Cricket Club, Praful Dhar was the pick of the bowlers, who took 3 important wickets by conceding 29 runs in his 7 overs, while Rakesh Koul, Vishal and Naman claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, Vishal Cricket Club chased the target easily in 24.3 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. AmritPal Singh top scored with unbeaten 61 runs, while Sidharth and Robin contributed 31 and 25 runs to the total respectively. From Royal Cricket Club, Varun took 2 wickets, while Vishal and Goutam claimed 1 wicket each. For his superb innings, Amrit Pal Singh was adjudged as the man of the match.
The match was officiated by Ashok Singh, Rahul and Vijay Raina.
Meanwhile, in another match at Police Lines ground, Kathua, Friends XI, Nagri defeated JKP XI Kathua by a narrow margin of 15 runs.
Batting first, Friends XI Nagri scored a good total of 256 runs in 38.4 overs. Raghav Sharma top scored with 71 runs, while Lucky and Rahul contributed 35 and 30 runs to the total respectively. From JKP XI, Sunny took 4 wickets, while Surjit claimed 3 wickets.
In reply, JKP XI scored 241 runs to lose the match by a narrow margin of 15 runs. Maninder Singh scored brilliant 87 runs, while Ravinder contributed 50 runs to the total. Kushaal was the pick of the bowlers from Friends XI Nagri who bagged 4 important wickets, while Susham and Neeraj claimed 2 wickets each. Raghav was adjudged as the man of the match for his splendid batting show.
The amtch was officiated by Jatinder Singh, Tarseem Sharma, Sanjeev Sharma and Manmohan.
