JAMMU, June 16: Virat Cricket Club scripted a thrilling 1-run win over Amco Cricket Club, while Doda Warriors Sports Club got the better of Youth Cricket Club Ghat in an easy contest by 130 runs in the ongoing JKCA District Level Cricket Tournament, being played at various venues in Jammu division.
The Tournament is being held under the patronage of Justice CK Prasad, Administrator JKCA; Chairmanship of Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, CEO JKCA and the supervision of Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member JKCA and Member Judicial State Human Rights Commission.
At Bhaderwah, Doda Warriors Sports Club defeated Youth Cricket Club Ghat by a big margin of 130 runs.
Earlier, batting first, Doda Warriors Sports Club scored a good total of 248 runs in 40 overs.
In reply, Youth Cricket Club Doda bundled out for 118 runs in 20 overs, thus lost the match by a big total. Parmod of Doda Warriors Sports Club, who scored 73 runs and took 2 wickets, was adjudged as the man of the match.
At GGM Science College Hostel ground, Jammu, batting first, Virat Cricket Club scored a big total of 257 runs in 35 overs. Jagandeep Singh top scored with 47 runs, while Rajeev contributed 42 runs to the total. Vivek Singh and Gurvinder also contributed 34 and 30 runs to the total respectively. From Amco Cricket Club, Nabeez took 3 wickets, while Sanjay claimed 2 wickets. Vikas also picked one wicket.
In reply, Amco Cricket Club fell short of just one run as it managed to score 256 runs to lose the match in an exciting contest by 1 run. Suresh top scored with 78 runs, while Ajay contributed 53 runs and Sunil made 31 runs. From Virat Cricket Club, Jagandeep, Jagjot Singh and Gurvinder took 2 wickets each. Jagandeep Singh was declared as the man of the match.
The match was officiated by Ashok Singh and Vijay Raina as umpires, while Saleem-ur-Rehman was the scorer.
