KATRA, Apr 4: Vice Chancellor Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra, Dr Sanjeev Jain felicitated the players of Kick Boxing team of the University which won 2 bronze medals at All India Inter University Championship recently.
The All India University (AIU) Kick Boxing Championship was organized by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.
Sandeep won the bronze medal in below 84 kg weight category, while in below 60 kg weight category for women, Pooja clinched bronze medal for the University. Total five students including 3 boys and 2 girls participated from the University. Balbir Singh accompanied the team as overall in-charge, while the coaching for Kick Boxing was provided by Sucha Singh, Sports Coach and Sumit Sharma.
While honouring the players, Dr Jain lauded the efforts of the winners for their performances and hoped for such achievements in future also.
Prof VK Bhat, Registrar; Dr Sumeet Gupta, Dean Academic affairs; Vinod Sharma, Administrative Officer and Rajiv Kumar, Faculty I/c Sports were present during the honouring ceremony.
