JAMMU, Sept 15: Prof. Manoj K. Dhar, Vice Chancellor University of Jammu today felicitated the young emerging boxers Bhanu Singh and
Yogesh Sharma of Jammu University Boxing Academy who brought laurels to the country, J&K State and University of Jammu by winning Gold Medals in 3rd International Boxing Championship held at Pataaya, Thailand (Bangkok) from September 5 to September 10, 2018.
Prof. Dhar after felicitating the boxers had a brief interaction with them in which the boxers narrated that Yogesh Sharma won Gold medal in 52 Kg category where as Bhanu Singh won Gold medal in 81+ Kg category. Both the boxers got this achievement by the constant efforts and strenous training and tactical coaching imparted by Harinderpal Singh (Boxing Coach).
Prof. Dhar congratulated the Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education Dr Daud Iqbal Baba for this achievement.
Vice Chancellor also emphasized on the future planning and working on Sports Policy so that the students in general and society at large can be benefitted.
Others present on the occasion were Dr Akhilesh Sharma, Vinay Thusoo, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ravish Vaid, Gagan Kumar, Vikas Karlopia and Jai Bharat.
