RAJOURI, Dec 6: Vice Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Professor Akbar Masood declared open sports event in the University premises, here today.
The sports event was organised by the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports of the University.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Akbar emphasized on the importance of incorporating sports with academics for the holistic growth and development of the students. “We must strive hard to build and create athletes in our country who will make our nation proud,” he said.
The VC also interacted with the players participating in the event. The Vice Chancellor lauded the efforts of the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports for organising the event.
In the series of events, the Volleyball tournament commenced today with the first match played between the Department of Management Studies and Department of Civil Engineering which was won by the Civil Engineering Department by 2-1 sets.
