JAMMU, Sept 16: Vanshika Manhas bagged the best player of the tournament award in girls section, while Om Baloria was adjudged best player in the boys section of the Jammu District Sambo Championship, which concluded at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
BJP leader Shakti Parihar was the chief guest on the valedictory function, while Raj Kumar Mani and SR Khan were the guests of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Sanjeev Singh, president J&K Sambo Association, Rajesh Kumar, Romi Jamwal, Sanjeev Gupta, Ranjeet Singh, Rohit Sadhotra, Vishal Jamwal, Kanwaljeet Singh, Akhil Budkuliya, Vikas Gupta, Deepak Dogra, AR Rehman, Suraj Bhan and Rahul Jamwal, District president, J&K Sambo Association.
Earlier, toppling his rival convincingly in the final, Nikhil Singh claimed gold in below 40 kg Under-15 boys, while Aryan Gandotra bagged silver in this category and the bronze medal went to Tarandeep Singh and Amit Singh.
In Under-15 girls below 32 kg, Vanshika Manhas bagged gold, Shatini Sani claimed silver, while Tanvi and Sakshi Kalsi won bronze medals.
Sahil claimed gold in Under-20 boys below 55 kg, while Mohd Ibrahim got silver and the bronze went to Parvinder and Kunal Sharma.
In Under14 boys below 18 kg event, Om won gold, Gurtiz Singh claimed silver, while Vansh Abrol and Rahul Kumar won bronze medals in this category.
Meanwhile, in Under-14 boys below 20 kg, Shivam Baloria and Vivek Singh claimed gold and bronze medals respectively, while the bronze in this weight category went to Aditya Choudhary and Manik Sharma.
In Under-14 boys below 25 kg, Bupesh Singh, Nikhil Mangotra, Vanshvir Singh and Kunal Sharma gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
Below 30 kg boys Under-14 gold went to Pranav Jasrotia, while Ritik Chib bagged silver and Tanvir Singh and Tarun Pangotra clinched bronze medals in this category.
In Under-14 boys below 28 kg category, Ayush Parihar and Jaanu bagged gold and silver respectively, while the bronze went to Ayan and Aryan Sharma.
Under-14 boys below 35 kg gold and silver medals went to Suresh and Kartik respectively, while Aakash and Nikhil shared bronze medal.
Meanwhile, in Under-14 boys open category, Parmarth Singh claimed gold, Himanshu bagged silver, while Vishavjeet Singh and Reshav Bamba won bronze medals.
In Under-12 boys open category, the gold went to Krishna, silver to Lakhan, while Rakshit Bamba and Rudraksh claimed bronze medals.
The Under-17 boys below 45 kg gold went to Deepak, while Sourav claimed silver and Rahul and Neeraj shared the bronze medal in this category.
In Under-20 boys open category, Deepak Dogra claimed gold, Akhil Budkuliya bagged silver, while the bronze medal went to Shubam Sharma and Idreas Ahmed.
