UT level Power Lifting & Fitness C’ship organised

JAMMU, May 29: J&K UT level Power Lifting and Fitness Championship was organised for underprivileged youth, students as well as disabled persons in a Resort near Narwal, here in the memory of Police martyrs who sacrificed their lives while protecting the country.
It was the 9th event, organised by SSP (Retd.) Som Raj Dutta wherein SSP-Anti Narcotics, Vinay Sharma was the chief guest, whereas SDPO, Zahir Abbas and DySP KD Bhagat were the guest of honours along with a Human Right Organisation president, Sushma Sharma.
About more than 400 candidates have registered themselves for the event which was a part of the anti drug campaign, organised every year under the supervision of Retired SSP, Som Raj Dutta for children of Police personnel as well as others.
The winners of the events were sponsored by the organisation for a tour of Mcleodganj and Dalhousie, said an organiser Pankaj. During the event various disabled persons displayed their talent by lifting different weight in the different categories.
While addressing the audience after inauguration, the SSP (Chief Guest) informed the participants about the ill effects of the drugs and appealed to them to stay away from them.
