UT level Carrom C’ship concludes

SRINAGAR, Sept 29: J&K UT level 3rd Carrom Championship, organised by Carrom Association of J&K in collaboration with Decathlon Sports India, concluded here today.
Saloni, Director Industries & Commerce distributed the prices among winners and runners up, while Zeeshan Khan, Assistant Director Tourism Kashmir, Adil Rashid Shah general secretary J&K Carrom Association, Adfar Jan organising secretary of the championship, Arif Sultan, Dawar Rashid, Gulzar Khan and many others were present during the event.
Adil Rashid Shah welcomed chief guests and other dignitaries present at the closing ceremony function of the event. Around 265 players participated from 11 districts which were played under the international Carrom Federation rules in four different categories: senior, junior, sub junior and cadet in both boys and girls, men and women section.
The Champions of this championship will represent J&K UT in 50th Golden Jubilee Senior National Carrom Championship which will be held in Kalkotari Indoor Stadium, New Delhi .
Saloni Rai, Director Industries & Commerce congratulated the winners and runners up of the championship and wished them best of luck for the 50th Golden Jubilee Senior National Carrom Championship. Zeeshan Khan, Assistant Director Tourism Kashmir encouraged the players and asked them to bring laurels for J&K and make us proud.
In cadet boys section, Salman, Ziyan ul Haq and Amaan Farooq stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, while in girls section, top three places were secured by Halla Middha, Khair ul Nissa and Syed Soliha respectively, in sub junior boys, first three places were won by Aiyan Nabi, Mohd Ayaan & Shayaan Ashiq and in sub junior girls, Zainab, Aaliza and Hurrain won top three places respectively.
In junior boys, Zaid Aijaz, Amaan Parvaiz and Numan stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, in junior girls, Muntazir Muneer, Iram & Nousheen remained 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, in senior men, first three places were clinched by Furqan Nazir, Arsalan Mehraj and Romin Fayaz won top three places and in senior women, Aqsa Jan, Anzalna Rafiq and Mehak Nabi stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Adfar Jan presented a vote of thanks to dignitaries.
