UP gains 1st innings lead as Aditya wreaks havoc

Jammu, Dec 17: Uttar Pradesh gained vital first innings lead against Jammu and Kashmir as Aditya Kumar Singh wreaked havoc, taking 7-wicket haul in U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy at Sector-01 ground, Bhilai today.
Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 51/1, J&K batters failed to show resistance against disciplined bowling and the team bundled out for 176 runs to concede 99-run lead to UP. Arman Sharma top scored with 65 runs studded with 8 fours, while Irfan Ahmed contributed 39 runs to the total. Skipper Shaurya Manhas scored 23 runs.
Aditya Kumar Singh was the wrecker-in-chief who took 7 wickets by conceding 61 runs in his 34 overs, while Bhavi Sharma claimed 2 wickets.
Uttar Pradesh in their second essay were 200/5 in 44 overs. Aditya Shishoudiya top scored with 79 runs off 94 balls, studded with 7 fours and 4 sixes, while Yashu Pradhan contributed 71 off 78 balls with the help of 12 boundaries.
For J&K, Dhruv Sharma took 4 wickets by conceding 56 runs in 13 overs, while Bilal Mohi U Din claimed 1 wicket
Uttar Pradesh are now 299 runs ahead with 5 wickets in hand.
