Two J&K cricketers in playing XI of prestigious Challenger Trophy

JAMMU, Nov 2: Two promising J&K cricketers made it to the playing XI of the prestigious Under-19 Mens and Womens Challenger Trophy, organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at Ahmedabad and Jaipur respectively.
These tournaments are organised to pick the Indian teams for representing the nation at the International leve.
The cricketers who made the sporting fraternity of Union Territory proud included Arya Suvansh Thakur and Bhawandeep Kaur.
Arya represented India D in six team fixtures, the matches of which are being held at Ahmedabad while Bhawandeep represented India C in four match fixtures at Jaipur.
While Bhawandeep was unlucky to be dismissed on 1 run of one ball as she was run out, Arya managed to score 20 off 22 balls while opening the innings.
The representation of these two cricketers at this level portrays the picture of the professionalism and transparency in the cricketing system in JKCA this season.
This is for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) that two of its cricketers have represented it simultaneously in Challengers Trophy.
