REASI, Oct 19: Trouncing their rivals convincingly in their respective matches, Tiger Cricket Club (Tiger CC) and Tariq Cricket Club (Tariq CC) have reached in quarterfinal round in the ongoing Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament played at General Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium, here today.
The match was played between Tiger CC and Nai Basti Cricket Club wherein the former defeated the later by 13 runs. Batting first, Tiger CC scored 112 runs in stipulated 20 overs while the opponent team bundled out at 99 runs whereas in another match, the match was tie between Tariq CC and Mahore Cricket Club. Both the team made 122 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.
The result of the 2nd match was decided in super-over. Mahore CC scored only five runs in the super over while the opponent team (Tariq CC) made six runs in just two balls of the super-over and won the match.
Man of the Match was awarded to Naresh of Tiger CC and Majid of Tariq CC for clinching 4 and 3 wickets in their respective matches by Dy SP Hqrs, Iftkhar Ahmed and In-charge Assitant Director Food Civil Supplies, Muhammad Sayeed.
The tournament is being organized by District Police Reasi under the supervision of SSP Reasi, Rashmi Wazir.
