Teamwork helps Media XI end JU’s 19-game winning streak

JAMMU, Aug 4: Teamwork helped skipper Vivek Suri led Media XI Cricket Club to register a convincing 23-run win over Jammu University (JU XI) in a friendly T-20 match, thus ended Rajesh Salgotra led JU’s winning streak of consecutive nineteen games at University of Jammu Ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Media XI scored a fighting total of 138 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process.
Amar (25 off 23 balls), Irfan (20 off 17 balls), Sachin (23 off 8 balls) and Rajneet 20 off 18 balls were the main contributors. And then Media XI bowlers spearheaded by Faheem Tak 3/19 restricted JU on 115 for 9 to register their maiden win against JU by 23 runs. Vivek Suri (2 for 14) was also instrumental in his team’s win, while Nitin and Yash also shared one wicket apiece.
Amar (25 runs) and Faheem (3 wickets) were jointly declared as the players of the match.
