Tawi Trekkers start ‘Sunday Series’ for Sport Climbers

JAMMU, June 4: To prepare J&K Sport Climbing team for the North Zone Sport Climbing Championship, Tawi Trekkers J&K has today started ‘Sunday Series’ at Tenzing Norgay sport climbing wall in the Sprawling Buds ICSE School campus.
Fifty five climbers participated in different categories of the competition which was organised under the overall supervision of general secretary of Tawi Trekkers J&K Shawetica Khajuria and technical guidance of International Climbers Shivani Charak, Shilpa Charak and Arun Deep Singh.
President of Tawi Trekkers J&K, Ram Khajuria also remained present and keenly watched the performance of the budding climbers during the competition. Prominent among others present on the occasion included Ramesh Khajuria, Director Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab, Jammu and Narinder Singh, veteran mountaineer and a senior member of the club.
The purpose of Sunday series is to promote sport climbing among masses and also to provide the budding climbers a regular practice for winning medals in the forthcoming zonal championship. Next competition of the Sunday Series shall be conducted on June 11.
