Ramban, Apr 20:Wrestler Tariq from Kathua clinched the 21st Annual Maitra Kesari Dangal-2015 by beating Wrestler Gopal Singh from Udhampur in the main bout played at Ramleela Ground, Maitra, here.
The Maitra Kesari Dangal (was organized by Dangal Committee Maitra in collaboration with Rashtrya Rifles 11 Sector.
MLA Ramban, Neelam Kumar Langeh was the chief guest, whereas Brig. K.P Singh and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar were the guests of honour on the occasion. While CO 9th Bn Maratha Alex Mohan and president Dangal Committee Maitra Gopal Krishan Raina presided over the function.
Over 30 bouts were held during the wrestling event and large number of renowned wrestlers from across the state participated in this mega event.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Neelam Kumar Langeh asked the youth to participate in sports activity for their moral and physical development. He said that the sport besides making players physically fit also is a major source of entertainment to the common people.
