JAMMU, Nov 20: Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) concluded selection trials in discipline of Taekwondo Boys & Girls AAG at Khel Gaon Nagrota, here today.
The aim of Inter-School District Level competition /selection trials is to select best players for the upcoming next level tournament.
In Under 14 boys category, Rakshit Sharma of Police Public School, Raghav Sharma of Nav Shishu Public School, Kaniya Pokhan of JNMPS, Gavish Sharma of Nav Shishu Public School, Dhanish Bhagat of Sarvodhya Public School, Vivek Sharma of Nav Shishu Public School, Rakshveer Singh of Banyan Int Public School and Vishal Majotra of Jammu Sanskriti School got 1st positions in -23 kg,-25 kg, -27 kg, -29 kg, -32 kg, -35 kg, 38 kg and -41 kg respectively.
In Under 17 boys, Sumit Kumar of Adarsh Niketan, Soham Sharma of Lawrence Public, Abhirav Bharti of Jammu Sanskriti, Amit Sharma of KC Gurukul, Harsh Sharma of Nav Shishu, Akarshit Bansotra of AFS, Udhay Sangotra of Nav Shishu, Vaibhav Abrol of Model Academy, Mohd Irfan Malik of Sarvodhya Public and Krishna Gupta of LSDB succeeded to win first positions in -35 kg, -38 kg, -41 kg, 44 kg,-48 kg, -52 kg, -56 kg, -60 kg,- 64 kg and +64 kg respectively.
In Under 19 boys, Achutam Dev Singh of DBN, Varun Singh of Sarvodhya Public, Deepak Kumar of SRML, Aftab Hussain of Alhilal School, Kushagra Sharma of Model Academy, Amarjeet Kumar of GHS Marh, Kartik Sharma of KV Nagrota and Manjeet Singh of KC Public bagged first positions in -46 kg,-50 kg, -54 kg, -58 kg, -62 kg, -66 kg, -70 kg, and +70 kg respectively.
In Under14 girls, Mehak Sharma of Jammu Sanskriti, Lakshmi Devi of Nav Shishu, Simran of Sarvodhya Public and Janvi Choudhary of Sarvodhya Public got first positions in -29 kg, -32 kg, -35 kg and -38 kg respectively.
In Under 17 girls, Vaibhavi Abrol of Model Academy, Pavneet Kour of St Peter School, Lakshmi Salaria of Sarvodhya Public, Vidhushi of GGHS Ghou Manhasa, and Aprajita of Oriental Academy succeeded to bag first positions in -35 kg, -38 kg, -41 kg, -44 kg and -48 kg respectively whereas Vishakha Bandral GGHS Rehari, Siya Saini of JKPS, Janvi Majotra of Jammu Sanskriti and Palak Dhinnan GGHSS M. Mandi clinched first positions in -40 kg, 46 kg, -50 kg and -58 kg respectively in Under 19 girls category.
